collaboration with the Sunraysia
Mallee Economic Development Board Inc.and with the support of
the Mildura Chamber of Commerce and Industry is running the Regional
Export Online (REOL) trial in the Sunraysia Mallee Tri-State region
(SMR) of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
The results of the REOL will be presented at the Australian Food and Wine
Industries Conference in ealy February
2003 in Mildura (Victoria).
SMR contributes significantly to overall Australian exports. The
region is well known as a source of the highest quality Australian
fresh produce, especially citrus, table grapes, asparagus, dried fruits and premium Australian wines to name a few.
Other strong area of export in the region is agriculture, food processing & packing machinery and equipment as well as engineering services.
Several local companies are participating in this valuable trial.
Some of them are well-established exporters and others are just novices
in international trade. However, all are very keen to set up or
enhance export operations and establish long-term business relationships
with overseas buyers. Offering great Australian products, these companies
are open for negotiations and are ready to offer the best terms to develop
export markets.
